The group has its roots in traditional Irish music. All its members met through the Coventry and Leamington branches of the Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (Company of Traditional Irish Musicians) and regularly go to Fleadhs in England and Ireland.

Sean O'Donovan (bodrhan and spoons) and Tom Bracken (guitar and banjo) met up with Graeme Thacker (banjo and flute) and Frank Walsh (accordion and whistle) in St Brendan's Irish Club, Coventry in April 1994. Shortly afterwards, they were joined by Terry Fairless (fiddle), completing the team.

As a group they have now played many and varied venues in the Midlands and Southern England. In the Summer of 1995 the group had a very successful tour of Ireland playing in hotels and bars mainly in Cork and Kerry. During August 1996 their reputation had spread and they embarked on a tour of Austria playing mainly in Vienna and the surrounding region. This was a great success with many firm friends made and repeat invitations given.

Apart from traditional Irish music, Tom and Graeme also sing a variety of songs which are either traditional rousing "comeallya!" songs or those in the traditional genre. The band also perform slow airs and ballads. Further talent is shown by Noel who performs Irish Step Dancing (reels and hornpipes).

Finally, where on earth did the band get that name? It's quite simple really, it's the name of an old Irish jig
